The Clarke County School District wishes to push forward with design supportive of, “classrooms of tomorrow”. GVSA was chosen to execute this design philosophy on behalf of CCSD based on our abilities to think creatively and work with technology in a seamless manner. This project began with a comprehensive needs assessment paralleled by multiple design schemes presented to all project stakeholders numerous times to incorporate their input and facilitate project buy-in. Feedback from staff, community and CCSD officials indicates that this process has been successful beyond expectations. The classroom of tomorrow concept manifests itself through corridors that now assist in teaching and collaborative learning spaces for multi-media interaction and the pursuit of immersing the student in information. The environment is intended to be dynamic versus static, promote interaction and active learning versus passive learning. At the end of the day the creative spaces provide a more fun learning environment and that is one of the keys to engaging the elementary school student more thoroughly.
