Webinar on COVID Safety in S.C. Charter Schools Planned

14 December 2022

Atlanta (February 2021) Goode Van Slyke Partner and Co-Founder Paul Van Slyke will speak at an upcoming event designed to inform educators at South Carolina charter schools about ideas and actions to make educational facilities safer during the pandemic. The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) helps schools improve COVID-19 prevention efforts.

While these funds are available, it can be daunting for schools to navigate the most effective strategies. Panelists will share important information about dedicating resources toward making realistic and effective changes.

Van Slyke will join air quality experts, engineers, and educators in sharing useful designs, products, and strategies for safer facilities. The invitation-only webinar, “Facility Readiness: Short and Long-term Moves to Ensure You Have Facility Success,” is set for Thursday, March 4. The event is organized by The Charter Facility Team and The Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina.

GVSA, an innovative, versatile architectural firm, founded its practice on K-12 design 25 years ago and is still actively engaged in proactively designing innovative environments for innovative teaching techniques. The firm also excels at related projects including outdoor classrooms and amphitheaters, performing arts centers, and sporting arenas. Currently, GVSA’s many education clients include four charter schools, which is one reason the Charter Facility Team asked the firm to participate as an expert presenter for the South Carolina-based charter school audience consisting of at least 100 schools.

In addition to its school and university portfolio, Goode Van Slyke may be best known for its work on the new Mercedes Benz Stadium, including the offices of the Atlanta Falcons. Its portfolio includes mixed-use and multifamily residential communities ranging from luxury to affordable, senior and student housing; office buildings; educational, healthcare, and government facilities; performing arts centers, museums, and cultural centers; broadcasting studios; aviation facilities; and master plans for large-scale developments and redevelopments. Founded GVSA in 1996, the firm celebrates its 25th anniversary this summer. For more information, visit www.GVSA.com.
