GVSA’s primary goals for this project as well as its sister school Whit Davis Elementary School, were to increase the health and safety of the students while also providing for a more stimulating and engaging educational experience. Working closely with the Clarke County School District, GVSA helped implement new ideas and methodologies ranging from “reading perches’ to common areas with folding glass walls intended to increase the collaborative learning process. It is important to note that although these sister schools share a similar layout, Goode Van Slyke provided an equal level of design and documentation for each, taking into account the differences in the floor plan, site plan, as well as the specific needs of the school.
